Dial 988, press send and talk to someone right now.
Your life matters and the world is better because you are here. You may not feel that way right now but it's true. Make the call.
Houze of waxx has built its foundation on bringing Awareness to the Mental Health crisis by way of music, music collecting, programming, fundraising and in events held in the same communities that are being affected by the Mental Health crisis. Like any collection it takes time, patience, nurturing and understanding to build a collection one record at a time. The vision, education and patience it takes to build a worthy collection is the same approach we us in helping each individual with a Mental Disorder. Our members of Houze of waxx have a unique outlook on Mental Disorders being Survivors themselves with over 50yrs combined, we feel this gives us a better understanding of how to service the community and survivors as individuals and not just a disorder. Houzeofwaxx not only looks to help spearhead this campaign by raising awareness but also in a sponsorship and networking role. Houzeofwaxx looks to extend our reach in becoming a information hub for not only our communities but surrounding communities as well.

More than half of adults with a mental illness do not receive treatment, totaling over 27 million U.S. Adults
Over 2.5 million youth in the U.S. have severe major depression. This rate was highest among youth who identify as more than one race.
DJ 101
Over-coming complex mental health issues with the art of DJing can help mange Anxiety and depression. This is probably the last thing most Survivors will think about when it comes to managing one's
disorders. Music evoke feelings of euphoria, Djing is a perfect way to communicate, get clarity about what story you want to tell with your music. Djing will help students gain confidence while having fun learning
new music, new artists and developing a new skill set.
Students will learn to cope with anxiety by learning calming techniques like breathing, hand-eye coordination and developing an acute ear for sound. Djing will help with staying grounded by
building self confidence/self worth. This exercise teaches student timing, mixing and music selection, music is all about emotional expression. DJing 101 goal is to create an environment where spontaneity can arise, anxiety is reduced, and students are more
receptive to their own intuition. This approach fosters a more healing process by utilizing playfulness, imagination, dialogue, skill-building, narrative, inspiration and integration in judge free settings . By incorporating DJing into the lives of students it can tap into their creativity and engage in improvisation, which can have positive effects on their emotional well-being and overall mental health. DJing allows students to express themselves through music
and explore their emotions in a non-verbal and creative way, providing a unique avenue for self-expression and self-discovery. This form of therapy can be particularly beneficial for students who
may struggle with traditional talk therapy or have difficulty expressing themselves verbally
Houzeofwaxx’s A.T.O.M program is an R/C, Robotics and Technology
program that will help students with anxiety, depression and social
disorders build self esteem, team building and necessary social skills to
help with everyday living, A.T.O.M stands for
ALL-TOGETHER-OVER-MECHANICS, the A.T.O.M program will help the
student focus on activities that improve their well-being and overall mental
health by making them feel apart of something organic, special and exciting.
Robotics and R/C building will be the introduction into the world of robotic
technology while joining a team of like minded students, whether it be building
erector sets, building fighting robots or cruising a R/C car around an official
track. We want students to feel free from judgment, ridicule and replace it with
positivity, confidence and full self esteem. Let's remind our youth what it is to
be a kid and help find their joy in the A.T.O.M program.
1.) Social Skill: this will provide students with the opportunities to learn and
practice their social skills This will be an effective method of practice through

directions in which the students will carry out and offer immediate feedback.

engagement. In addition , mental health benefits from working in teams
include, lower levels of stress, boosted student confidence and increased
creativity and innovation. In short teamwork building results in a positive
social environment

students turn inward to become quiet and still to help focus attention on the
task at hand and focus what is happening in the present moment rather than
past regrets and feathers.

LET’S EXPLORE GAMING THE IMPACT OF GAMING ON MENTAL HEALTH: Video Games and Mental Health are intricately intertwined, forming a relationship that is as complex as is profound. This connection becomes even more signifignt when considering individuals with disabilities. For these individuals, video games can serve as more than just a form of entertainment→ they can be a lifeline, a tool for connection and a means for self-expression. The world of video gaming offers an escape from reality, a chance to step into roles and an opportunity to explore fantastical worlds. For people with disabilities(PWD), this escape can be particularly meaningful. It provides a space where physical limitations do not define one’s ability to participate, succeed or connect with others. In a society where people with disabilities often face barriers to inclusion, video games can level the playing field. They offer an environment where everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can engage on equal terms. This can have a profound impact on Mental Health, fostering a sense of belonging, boosting self-esteem and providing a valuable outlet for stress and anxiety. LET’S PLAY LEGOS
Houzeofwaxx wants to take a childhood favorite and use it as a tool in wellness and healing factor
for Mental Health. Did you know that play is essential for Mental Health? Engaging in playful activities, like assembling LEGO sets or creating your own designs, stimulates the brain and triggers the release of dopamine, the “feel-good” neurotransmitter?
Stress Reduction: Building with LEGO can be a Meditative experience. It requires focus and concentration,
which diverts attention away from worries and stressors. The repetative nature of connecting
bricks and following instructions also induces a state of mindfulness, promoting relaxation.
Creative Expression: For many adults, the daily grind can stifle
creativity. LEGO offers a canvas for imagination to flourish. Whether it’s constructing intricate buildings, crafting miniature landscapes or inventing unique designs, LEGO encourages adults to “tap-in” to their creative reservoirs.
Sense of Achievement: Completing a LEGO set or a personal project provides a sense of accomplishment. This small victory can be a powerful mood booster, especially for those dealing with stress or depression. It reinforces the idea that progress and achievement
are possible, NO MATTER HOW SMALL!! Social Connection:
LEGO isn’t just a solitary activity. Adult fans of LEGO (AFOLs) often join online communities,
attend conventions and participate in collaborative building projects. These interactions create a
sense of belongimg and foster connections with like-minded enthusiasts, combating feelings of
isolation. Cognitive Benefits: Building with LEGOS isn’t just fun: it’s mentally stimulating. It enhances problem-solving skills,
spatial awareness and fine motor skills. These cognitive benefits contribute to improved mental
agility and mental resilience. A Mindful Escape: In a world that’s constantly connected and filled
with digital distractions, LEGO offers a tangible and screen free escape. It’s a rare opportunity to
disconnect from screens, emails and social media to immerse oneself in a hands-on, analog activity.
The Therapeutic Value: For some adults, LEGO serves as a therapeutic
outlet. It can be used as a tool in art therapy or as a means of self-expression for those who find it
challenging to communicate their emotions verbally.
Finding Balance: It’s important to note that while LEGO can be a
valuable tool for Mental Health, it is not a substitute for professional Mental Health care
when needed. It should be seen as a complementary activity that promotes relaxation,
creativity and well-being.
In Conclusion, LEGO isn’t just a children’s toy: it’s a
versatile tool that can significantly benefit the
Mental Health of adults. By providing an avenue
for play, stress reduction, creativity, a sense of
achievement, social interaction, cognitive
stimulation and mindful escape, LEGO has proven
its ability to enhance mental resilience and
contribute to a healthier and happier adult life. So
don’t be surprised if you find yourself reaching for
those colorful bricks next time you need a Mental
Health Boost!!
“Music can lift us out of depression or move us to tears – it is a remedy, a tonic, orange juice for the ear. But for many of my neurological patients, music is even more – it can provide access, even when no medication can, to movement, to speech, to life. For them, music is not a luxury, but a necessity.”
